Work Experience and Traineeships

Eligibility for Work Experience at VenuesWest
Only students undertaking a course through an appropriate learning institution with relevant insurance coverage will be accepted for work experience placements. The following types of students will be considered for work experience with VenuesWest:
- Tertiary students undertaking courses in Sport and Recreation
- Students completing their practicum in the RLSSWA Pool Lifeguard program
- Students completing their practicum in AustSwim or RLSSWA Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety
- Tertiary students undertaking courses in Marketing, Design, Photography and/or Communications
- Tertiary students undertaking courses in Fitness
- Tertiary students undertaking courses in Business, Commerce, Sales, Administration or a related field
- Students of Aboriginal Australian or Torres Strait Islander origin
- Students with disability
- WAIS Athletes
Traineeships at VenuesWest
We partner with ATC WorkSmart who work with secondary schools and registered training organisations such as Royal LifeSaving WA to assist students to reach their goals in completing Certificates II, III and IV in a variety of learning areas. Both school-based and adult traineeships are available and we have opportunities across the business. Placements generally run for 1 – 2 years for the full duration of study and we are dedicated to finding employment opportunities to continue to support our trainees when they have completed their certificates.
The following students will be considered for traineeships with VenuesWest:
- Students of Aboriginal Australian or Torres Strait Islander origin
- Students with disability
